Portraiture
I try to capture the essence of each subject, to bring their personality
and likeness to life with every pencil or brush stroke.
Graphite (black and white), or coloured pencils and other paints for coloured portraiture are my favourite mediums. I use photographs for a visual reference, so the subject has to be in focus, and large enough for me to see the detail when I zoom in. It's possible to combine subjects from different photos, too. If you haven't got any suitable photos, we can talk this through when you get in touch.
How long does it take for me to finish a portrait? I can tell you exactly when you commission me, but as a guide please allow 14-28 working days. How much does it cost? Again, this is dependant on the size and complexity, but an A3 (11.7 x 16.5" / 29.7 x 42cm) pencil portrait of a single subject starts at £400 for an original. If you would like to commission me, or want to know more details, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
